Hello All, It's been a couple weeks since I've logged all my plays on here. Sorry about that. It's been a little hectic around here at Sound FM.
This will be the last week for this site. Yes bigger and better things are about to occur for Mixed Frequencies. Now at a new time, 1-4pm on Mondays, and soon to be at a new site. The Podcast which you may have noticed has been down for the last few months will be back up at a new host, and hopefully with new artists! (On a related note, if you want to come in to record some acoustic stuff and talk about music, email me [mfckms@gmail.com])
So here's today playlist:
"Lovely Allen" Holy Fuck
"All the Old Showstoppers" New Pornographers
"Soon We'll Be Living in the Future" Straylight Run
What does a Monday feel like, from 1-4pm? I'm about to find out.
Mixed Frequencies is moving to MONDAYS! This Monday (August 4th) I'll be on 100.3 Sound FM from 1-4pm. It'll be a raging good time. Have I ever lied to you? No. No I haven't. That one time didn't count. I was protecting you. I didn't want to hurt your feelings, but the car was a junker. Anyways.
Some albums for the summer... Dancy and Fun Black kids - Partie Traumatic The Wombats - A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation Vampire Weekend - S/T Metro Station - S/T
This will air on the 39th premiere of Sesame Street on August 11th. I actually kindof want to watch it. My favourite part of it: the attempt to recreate the one-shot feel of the original video, and every Feist video for that matter. I've actually been on set for the shooting of Sesame Street before (in the Netherlands no less.. Big Bird is Blue there, it's creepy) and based on that my guess is this was ridiculously complicated to film. But it turned out not too badly.
I guess they cut out the "1 2 3 4 5 6 9 and 10" part so they wouldn't confuse the youngsters.
Oh and Neil Patrick Harris will be on the show as well. Pretty sure this is going to be a great season.
