Hey... Wanna Get Together?

Hello all you great, great musicians and friends!

If you are able to travel to Waterloo and are interested in doing a Mixed Frequencies Sessions Recording with me, message me! Even though I'm off the air for the summer I'd still love to do a few of these. They are a lot of fun for myself and whoever is on the other side of the glass. So if you've got some killer stuff and think you are up for the challenge of spending some time in CKMS's Studio B, let me know and we'll get this going.
It will be legendary!

Sickness

Sadly I was sick in bed this morning when I should have been at CKMS. For some reason getting up and biking to the station with a high fever, sore throat, lightheadedness and all that fun stuff didn't appeal to me at 5am. Especially since I hadn't really slept at all.

Anyways I'm still covering for KLP this Friday from 9 till Noon. So tune in then for your last fix of Mixed Frequencies until September!

Email your requests to me at mfckms@gmail.com!

Last Shows..

Yes it's true, after this Wednesday Mixed Frequencies will no longer be on CKMS for a little while. I'm moving back home for the summer term and although I will be back in Waterloo a lot, I can't commit to a slot for a few months.

But don't be down. KLP has asked me to fill in for her on the Sideshow Continuum this Friday (the 18th) as she is away. So there will be three hours of Mixed Frequencies goodness from 9 am till noon. That's right. Mixed Frequencies. 9am to Noon. Friday the 18th. I'm done exams so I'll be in a great mood.. it's going to be a lot of fun! So make sure to email me a request at mfckms@gmail.com or call in during the show! I'd love to hear from you. The number is 519-884-CKMS (2567). And remember that you can listen in online by going to www.ckmsfm.ca and clicking "Webcast".

But other then that, there are lots of amazing shows on CKMS for you to enjoy. From the Sideshow Continuum to the Rock Show to the Argument to Stumbling Upon Moksha. There's a whole world of music availible to you on CKMS. Check out the program guide for more info. And if you think you'd like to try your hand at doing a show, CKMS is always looking for volunteers!

And don't worry about that whole funding fiasco, we are not dead yet! The volunteers at CKMS, the staff and the board (myself included in that) are all dedicated to keeping CKMS alive. Over the summer there is most likely going to be a lot of change at the station.. it's very exciting times that's for sure.

It's been a fun 7 months. Who knows what tomorrow will bring...

Stream New Death Cab!

Yes, it is no secret that I am really really excited for Narrow Stairs, the new album from Death Cab for Cutie that is due out soon. And as soon as I have paid down my credit card a bit I'm preordering that one. But for now another song off of the album has made it's way into streaming goodness.

Check out NPR's All Songs Considered for a sneak preview of a track off of Narrow Stairs, "Pity and Fear." Link to that is right here.

And in case you have been living under a rock, you can check out I Will Possess Your Heart on the Death Cab's myspace.

Enjoy!
